March 2011 School Perceptions Survey Results
To assist in understanding the issues surrounding the lack of support for the referendum, a survey was created in collaboration with the students from the INGMT-750 Organizational Development Course and Dr. Kersten, University Of Wisconsin, Stout. This survey consisted of both qualitative and quantitative measures to gain the best insight into the views of the public. The audience selected for this survey was the parents and staff of the Altoona School District.

The Strategic Planning Process:

The School District of Altoona has set sail on a very important activity helping to set the strategic direction for our schools over the next several years. As you might guess, community involvement is one of the most important components of this process!

Our thanks to our diverse team of more than 50 community members, parents, students and staff that have committed their time and thoughtful consideration!

Four small groups have been meeting and gathering information about the district:  The External Factors, Internal Factors, Communications, and Programming task force teams will make recommendations for school board review. The board will then formulate the district’s vision, mission statement and strategic initiatives to guide us through the next three to four years.
