2020 RAIL Program for Students Entering Grades K-8
- Session 2, July 6-23 has been cancelled. After much though and consideration, we're sorry to announce that RAIL Session 2, July 6-23 has been cancelled. The health and safety of our students and the availability of staff were the two main factors in making this decision. We look forward to bringing back this popular program in June 2021.
- Session 1, June 15-25 has been cancelled. The Governor’s General Counsel has defined the end of the 2019/20 school year as June 30, 2020 – the statutorily determined end of the school year. This means that school buildings and associated grounds are closed to students for instructional and extracurricular activities through that date. It is possible that an additional order may extend that time further.

Registration Deadline: Closed
Session 2: July 6-23, Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 1:00pm

New this summer
Free lunches are available at the Altoona Elementary School, 157 Bartlett Avenue, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, June 15-25 and July 6-23.
This is open to all children/students up to age 18. No application necessary.
Please note: while the lunches are being served at the elementary school location on RAIL program dates, the lunch program is not a part of RAIL, but rather a part of the federal Summer Food Service Program. We were only able to offer it at the elementary school location due to federal guidelines, but it is open and free to all students (to age 18).
