The public school open enrollment application period for the 2023-2024 school year begins at midnight on Monday, February 6, 2023 and ends at Friday, April 28, 2023 at 4:00 PM.
2022-2023 Alternative Open Enrollment Application - closed for the 2022-2023 school year (effective 1/23/2023)

2022-2023 Tuition Waiver
If your family moves out of our school district after the third Friday in September (9/16/22) and wish to have your student(s) remain enrolled in the School District of Altoona for the rest of the current school year, you will need to complete a Tuition Waiver form at the time of your move.
If you would like your student(s) to continue attending The School District of Altoona for the upcoming 2023-24 school year, you will also need to apply for open enrollment during the Regular Open Enrollment period February 6 - April 28, 2023.

Nonresident school districts must send notices of approval or denial via US mail or email. If the application is approved, the school district must notify the parents of the specific school or program to which the student is assigned. If the application is denied, parents have 30 days to file an appeal.

Resident districts must notify applicants if the application is denied. If the application is denied, parents have 30 days to file an appeal.
June 30, 2023
Parents of accepted applicants must notify the nonresident district if the student will attend the nonresident district in the 2023-24 school year. If the parent fails to make this notification, the nonresident district may refuse to allow the student to attend the district.
