Administrative Assistant to the Athletic Director - Part-Time - Please apply on WECAN
Job Description
The School District of Altoona is hiring a part time High School Administrative Assistant. This is a 207 day position that follows the school calendar with three weeks of summer work spread throughout the break. The Administrative Assistant is the front face of our athletic department, and we are looking for a student centered, flexible, and upbeat person with good communication and organizational skills to work. Candidates should be able to assist students, parents, teachers and administration by handling office tasks, supporting students and staff, and providing polite and professional assistance via phone and email.They should be prepared and responsive, willing to multitask in the fast paced environment. Candidates should be comfortable with computers and excel at both verbal and written communication. Most importantly, they should have a genuine desire to meet the needs of the students.
The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all‐inclusive.
• Collects data and creates reports as needed (requires use of Windows, Excel, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat, Google Applications, Skyward, and appropriate application software in a network environment)
• Performs secretarial tasks as directed by administration
• Assists with telephone calls from parents and public
• Assists staff with clerical equipment in school office
• Maintains school equipment inventories and orders school supplies
• Assist with school web page updates
• Other duties as may be assigned by the administration
Rate of pay is $16.50/hour

Job Description
The School District of Altoona is seeking an additional part-time Bilingual Educational Assistant to support students for the remainder of the school year. The English Language Learner Paraprofessional provides bilingual assistance in the insturction and assessment of Limited English Proficient (LEP) students under the guidance of the EL teacher and core content teachers.
The position is temporary from now to June 2, 2023.
