Under the guidance of the summer school coordinator and teaching staff, the teacher’s aide will assist in the organization, preparation and supervision of the daily activities for the summer program. Aides will also assist in the need for discipline for any summer school participant. Interaction with teachers and students is a key element to this job.
The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.
- Assist recent arrivals to the country and to the school district
- Proficient Spanish-speaking skills to help our students communicate with teachers
- Using bilingual skills to help these students participate fully with their school work and activities
- Ability to keep children on task and following the group plan
- Ability to connect with and encourage young learners, especially those who have unique challenges like our new arrivals
This position is Monday - Thursday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. June 13 - 30th and July 6 - 21st.
