Policy EFE - Foodservice Meal Accounts


The School District of Altoona Foodservice will maintain accurate records of meals sold and served to students in the National School Lunch Program. Through a computerized lunch accounting program, the District shall maintain family meal accounts for payments of meals offered to reduced and full-pay students, and for any students who wish to purchase a second meal. These payments shall be made to the family meal account in advance of meals taken.

Free and reduced price meals are available to anyone who qualifies per their current income eligibility guidelines. Applications will be mailed prior to the start of the new school year, and are available in all school offices during the year. Students eligible for free meals under this program will not be denied a meal regardless of the account balance.
